My purpose is to export a 3D object from Blender (2.81) with the integrated glTF Exporter which shows just a geological surface layer. The data contain a tin with the location values and were imported with the help of BlenderGIS plugin. The result will be displayed in a Cesium based globe view. The point is, the import data contain also additional information like. It will construct a glTF material based on the nodes it recognizes in the Blender material. The material export process handles the settings described below. Note When image textures are used by materials, glTF requires that images be in PNG or JPEG format. The add-on will automatically convert images from other formats, increasing export time. Tip. In addition to exporting a root node for the scene, a GLTF node will be exported for every OBJ node in the scene. A GLTF node will be exported for the skinned mesh and every joint in the skeleton. The SOP GLTF Importer can import a specific node. When this option is chosen, it will also import any child nodes of the selected root node. Multi actions are still not supported, Multiple actions are supported in glTF-Blender-IO, I’ve checked this quite recently they do need to be either active actions, pushed down as NLA tracks, or stashed actions. The latest versions of Blender support glTF out of the box. You need to use a Principled BSDF to setup your materials so they can displayed correctly by FlightGear. Clicking on File > Export > glTF2.0 will open the save window, with which to choose the export folder and the name of the glb file. In the right column we will find all the export settings.
